Maureen Maguire Lewis has been researching
and writing cross-cultural negotiation
simulations since 1997. More than 120 colleges and universities
throughout the United States, Finland, Sweden, France, Germany, Mexico,
Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Canada, and Vietnam have used her work.
Lewis has received multiple
research grants from universities and educational
organizations:
Lewis has been a full-time
faculty member in the Management Communication
Center at Duke
University's Fuqua School of Business since
1992, and an Associate Faculty member at Duke's Asia/Pacific Studies Institute since 2001.
As Director of The
Global K-12 Outreach Program, a high school
outreach program of The Fuqua School of Business,
Lewis has developed interactive lessons
on China and Korea for middle schools and high school
classes. The Global K-12 materials have been used
successfully in a pilot program run from 2000 to 2003
at C.E. Jordan High School and Durham School of
the Arts, both in Durham, North Carolina. She participates regularly in outreach programs
held all over the state by NCTAN (North Carolina Teaching Network), World View, and
Duke University's Asia/Pacific Studies Institute.
